Branding for Podcast
The brief for this Bande a Part project involved the challenge of visually packaging a series of 8 podcast episodes that focused on popular artists … a chance to go deeper and unveil the inner workings of each individual.
The solution involved stripping down the project to a few colors, slightly twisting the number 8 (Neville Brody’s Blur gives it a nice thick mask like shape with small eye openings) to cover the (obvious) faces of each musician.
Playing on the idea of popularity, it was important to chose images that had already been used in previous CBC web layouts, injecting the idea of familiar elements with a repackaging of a whole system. The countdown lines on the top left started as 8 lines and went down as the episodes aired, functioning as a visual code to help the listener locate themselves in relation to where they were in the series.
